The pattern that comes with the yarn is excellent, but tends to make a very large hat. To get good fit, I reduced the number of beginning cast on stitches using trial and error. The pattern lends itself to variation of stitches and height. Knitting with a relaxed hand and turning the yarn when it began to tighten made for smooth knitting stitches without pulling the twist apart. I let the yarn fall away from the work and did not use a finger wrap. Once knit, the boucle is durable. The hats wash and dry without shrinking crush into a pocket and pop up without a wrinkle.
