Remembering
Created By: Gail Lofy
I wish I could remember who taught me to knit. I don't but it was at anearly age. It was at a time when "old" ladies and I gathered around a table at one of the department stores in downtown Milwaukee and knit. There was a lady who was the expert and she would help you and all you had to do was buy your yarn at the store. After you purchased your yarn you had to wine it into a ball on a machine. When I started highschool I found out one of my new friends grandmothers was a lady who was the expert. She loved me as I wanted to knit and her granddaughter wanted no part of it. ( The granddaughter went on to become a doctor and I became a teacher ). Knitting as been a wonder hobby and I made many lovely things, most of them as gifts. HOMEMADE has now become popular again! However now I have becomeinvolved with Motherbearproject.org. Look it up and for those of you who no longer have anyone to knit for I assure you that this is a wonderful project. Good luck and thank you for reading my story.
