particularly original ones are welcome, as long as the project was
made from Lion Brand Yarn.
I started out with the intent of making a "comforter" for my daughter's "Big Girl" bed. This was to be a present for her 2nd birthday! I started from scratch without a pattern and several skeins of Lion Brand Yarn in various colors and textures! (Some of the yarns used on this project...Boucle, Incredible, Chenile Thick & Quick, Homespun) I also used other brands to fulfill my color choice. My color palette was purple, yellow, teal and pink! It was fun to start the next color to see what would happen! This is my original creation from someone who finds it hard to stick with a pattern!
I am a high school art teacher and I would work on my project during my free time at school. I had several students intriqued by my creation. To this day, some still ask me about it!
Since I did not work from a pattern, my afghan did not turn out as expected! I actually did not fully know what to expect! As a self-taught knitter this was part of the fun and challenge. I finally finished the blanket...it started out as a nice afghan for my daughter's twin sized bed...and ended up becoming a colorful addition to MY queen sized bed! It fits perfectly!
