Learning to knit and crochet as a child

As a six year old I became ill with Rheumatic Fever and spent months rehabilitating. It so happened that an elderly neighbor of ours was partially crippled and spent many hours doing needlework. I became fasinated and wished to learn some of her techniques. Being a wonderfully patient Southern lady who believed every girl child should know certain things, she took me under her wing so to speak!! We spent many wonderful hours together. I to this day try to pass on my love of knitting and crocheting to anyone who wants to learn. I believe in this world we all are in it together and should treat everyone the way we wish to be treated. I am retired and work part time but plan to donate completed projects to our local hospitals and the nursing home where my mother lives. I'm sure "Grandma Brown" would be proud and I'll try to carry on our tradition of sharing with others!!!
