Knitting
Created By: Debbie Rosen
When I was a little girl I had a neighbor who was knitting and asked her to teach me how. She did and I think I was too young to keep it up. Now I am a mother of three girls, one who just went away to college, and love to knit. I have made scarfs for gifts for teachers, blankets for baby's pillows for my girls and their friends and the girls who do my nails and hair. I think it is a relaxing hobby and when I have the time I can just sit, watch tv, talk to my girls or on the phone and knit. I also take it with me when I go to the doctors with my elderly mother or the hospital with one of my girls. It makes me happy to make things and be proud of them. One little story is that I once made my eldest daughter a little blanket and her youngest sister supposedly made a hole in it. This was a few years ago and she told me that she wants me to make her another one so she has it when she goes away to school. Well that one is not done for her yet but she will be getting a new pillow in a few days for school. She and my younger daughter know how to knit. It is hard for a right handed peroson teaching a left handed one to knit but I did. Knitting is just a very relaxing hobby and people should try it, young or old.
