Created By: Maria Burg

Anna's husband was ill and she was the caretaker.

His illness was withdrawl from alcohol. He was irritable and had many physical and emotional problems. There were troubles with money, because his illness caused him trouble at work.

I was helping her reolize she could not fix her husband and could only support his pursuit of wellness.

But there are programs which will assist in getting her side of the street on track. These involve books which help the prosess. But Anna could not afford a book. I asked her to crochet me three scarves with my yarn to pay me for the book I bought for her.So while we were working on the book, she crocheted whenever she needed to mind her own business. At first She made two scarves that were lovely but utilitarian. But after working in the book, after seening the differences in her aditude and behavior, the third was a mix of many different patters and colors. She sewed on a single crochet chain like a vine climbing up a trellis. Then she attached colorfull crochet-flowers.In her pursuit of spiritual serenity, she found creativity and peace in a few skeins of yarn

I am going to be very proud to wear this scarf this winter. She and her husband are doing well on their road to recovery and wellness.
