Knitting for the military
Created By: Jacqueline Le Clair

Having retired I found myself with extra spare time and searched for a charity needing knitted items. Came across Ships Project which is a grass roots group based in Florida which is approved by the military to send knitted socks and caps to the troops. Sailors in our ships need to keep their feet and heads warm when sleeping in their bunks (which are cold because of the AC. Troops on the ground need socks and caps in winter and "cool ties" in the hot weather. This was just exactly what I wanted to do. Now as I knit I can add a prayer for our military personnel and I feel useful. Ships Project also collects coffee, lip balm,DVDs, and other supplies to ship to our troops to help their days be easier and extend our support. You can check it out online Shipsupport.com or Shipsproject.com. Try it, you might like it. Jacqueline LeClair
