Baseball Purse
Created By: Deborah Greytak
Using Lion white cotton, I decided to make a baseball purse. (During a bad game I was watching).
I first crochet 2 round circles adding extra stitches in each row, with about 130 total dc stitches on the final row.
As I stitched the 2 together, I left a 4 inch space open at the top with a 6 chain loop in the center.
Then as the game got worse, I embellished the handle into a baseball bat.
I added gold yarn to the white and added 3 stitches to every other row and stuffed it with cotton as I went along.
Closing the top in the center, I then crochet a cord starting with 3 stitches. I then added 2 more stitches to thicken the end of the cord.
Finishing it off,
1: I sewed red crochet cotton on each side to make the stitched pattern.
2: I sewed on a button to close the purse.
It's a hit wherever I go, esp. at the games.
I'm now making a golf ball purse with a Club as the handle for the upcoming Firestone Golf Tournament.
