It Keeps Me Seated!

A little over four years ago I was blessed with a life altering event. A little over four years ago I was at, what I thought, was the end of my rope. After a vain attempt at suicide, homeless, addicted to drugs and alcohol and done, I was given a chance to turn my life around. I was accepted into a transitional living home on the grounds that I would attend meetings 3 times a week and didn't use drugs or drink. The problem with that was, I had to sit still, without disturbing anyone else, for one and a half hours. So once the fog cleared, I knew if I could keep my hands busy, it would make it easier to sit through these meetings and I started to crochet. Finally, last year after working through the cobwebs and learning how to actually make something other than a square, I am now involved with a crafting group on the Internet that makes things for premature babies, cancer patients, and people on a reservation in South Dakota. Who knew that trying to sit still for an hour or so would turn into something so fulfilling in so many ways. I live a very blessed life today. Thanks to a Power Greater than myself and the art of crocheting I am able to be a productive member of society.
