Years ago when my husband had a stroke, I used to spend hours with him in the hospital, trying to cheer him up (as well as myself). When I returned home I was usually stressed out from the day's worrying. I found myself unable to sleep many nights. I found that picking up a crochet or knitting project at 3 AM or whenever gave me sense of comfort and calm and helped me through a very stress filled time in my life.
