I have crocheted for over 30 years. Learned from my aunt before my son was born. And one thing that she said as I was learning. If there is one thing you need to do is learn to read a pattern. So that was one of the first things. And then I joined a knitting group at church which is all crafts. And we make sweaters to send to Guidepost for Africa. And then my son said there was an article in the paper about making "beanies" for the troops in Iraq to go on before their helmets as they are pretty hard on a head so I have made some of those. But I was fasinated by knitted socks so there was a shop about a mile from the house called Knitty Gritty does that sound familiar. I went there and they are a great bunch and if you have any trouble you can go and get help. I make the socks on 2 double pointed needles and you can make a pair at a time but I don't know if that will ever happen for me. So be adventurous and try all things in crafts.
