How Much Is That Scarf in The Window?
Created By: Katherine Bassett
Like many of us in our younger years, I was taught to knit by my mother. I should say that my mother tried to teach me. I was at that age when all she had to do was look at me and I was upset. So, it was a monumental failure.
Then several years ago, my sister-in-law saw a scarf in the window of a local dress shop and presented me with the challenge of recreating it. The original cost $90 and I was able to do it for $25. Of course, it was Fun Fur. Needless to say a lot of people got scarves for Christmas that year.
What I found out was that I'm a process knitter that has a hard time finishing things; but, I'm working on that. If I don't finish a piece in 3 months, it gets unravelled and stored.
Knitting has also opened my life to new friendships, to a chance to contribute to charity, and to work on my completion probem.
I have a love for accessory knitting including socks, purses, and hats. I have also started a sweater which I intend to finish.
