It is a part of me. The hours spent with my hooks and yarn are some of the best. I'm usually a very shy and introverted person but by having my crochet projects with me, I tend to relax and meet many interesting people. I'm constantly told that I was born in the wrong time because I choose the old way instead of the new.
The art of contentment is what crochet fosters in me. I tend to have an overactive brain that goes in many directions at once. Crochet helps me center my thoughts and follow through because I can't stand an unfinished project.
My family up north greatly appreciates the hats, ponchos and such I send up. Mostly though I love the feeling of the yarn sliding through my fingers and the way a simple strand of thread or yarn can turn into wearable art that will only be produced once. The art of crochet has given me the ability to slow down and enjoy life.
