Knitting a productive hobby
I actually started knitting when about 5 years old and started with afghan squares - I enjoyed knitting diamond socks and later Scottish fairisle sweaters for my kids and myself - did my stint at Lopi sweaters too as well as Mary Maxim ones for my husband - knitted all my kids baby layettes - including fancy shawls, jackets, bonnets, booties etc. My booties were done as little socks with holes for a crocheted chain to threat through. The year I started to work for DND I knitted 8 pair of fingering socks for my husband at coffee time in the first few months. Then for several years I stopped - went on to do dishcloths which became very boring. Now since I shattered my arm in January this year I felt that knitting might get it back into shape and as our Church Craft group is desperate for home knit socks for our bazaar I decided to give it a go - to my shock I couldn't find knitting patterns in the store and while I had a rough idea how to go about it I needed a pattern to get me on track. My daughter put me in touch with your Web site and I was pleased to find what I was looking for, this I thank you so very much. I'm hedging near 80 so hope to be productive for a few more years yet!!!
