"knitting back and forth"
Created By: Susan Justiniano
I am an over-the-road truck driver. I team drive with my husband. We are on the road sometimes for as long as 8 weeks at a time. I drive the day shift and my husband drives the
night shift. When you are living in a truck sometimes it is difficult to have some kind of a "normal" life. I started to knit simply because I had a need to do something that made me feel like a "normal" person. I re-taught myself knitting after having not done it since i was a little girl. That was really tough since I was having to learn from a book and didn't have anyone to show me how to do something when I got stuck! Anyway, after some major determination I finally "got" it again. WHEW! I have made a zillion sweaters hats mittens and even mastered one pair of socks(that i had to do while watching a knit along dvd). I have been BITTEN by the "knitting" bug. All things knitting get me excited. And the yarn...the glorious glorious yarn. I have a yarn addiction that would make a dope addict look good! I have figured out how to spot the yarn shops while on the road and plan my entire trip around being able to stop and get MORE YARN. My poor husband puts up with having yarn stashed in every nook and cranny of our truck to the point that sometimes the stuff comes falling down on his head when he is trying to sleep while we bounce down the highway! Bless his heart! So while we travel back and forth on the highway from California to New Jersey I happily knit back and forth! Thats my story and I'm sticking to it!!!!
