Knitting and Crocheting for the soldiers and underpriveleged children
Created By: Chris May

I hadn't knitted for years and one day a friend asked me to go to a yarn store called "Stitches from the Heart". It is a non profit organization that receives knitted and crocheted baby clothes and afgans from people all over the country. They then mail them to hospitals all over the country in order to give them to underpriveleged babies. That started me knitting again and also learning how to crochet.

Now I'm also involved with making hats and slippers for the sevicemen in Iraq through a gruop called the "Ships Project".

There are only so many things you can make for yourself or friends and family,so doing this gave me the opportunity to hone my skills and to do thinge I never imagined were possible. I'm inspired all the time to try new things and I get excited every time I accomplish something new.

I take my projects to work and because of that I've taught people to knit and crochet and inspired others to pick it up again.

It doesn't get any better then this!
