Crocheting Keeps Me Sane
Created By: Denise McCall
I'm a very stressed person. I'm alone most of the time except for when I'm at work or some family event comes along, then my children want to be around me or seemingly want to be around me. Or I babysit my grandchild.
I'm a 43 year old, who doesn't have a social life and right now just doesn't seem I ever will. So to keep my sanity, I crochet. If I didn't, with the job I have and the loneliness I feel, I would go nuts and probably go off.
I have been diagnosed with depression which is why my children really don't want to be around me and I also have associated anger issues.
Most of my projects end up going to my jobs charity events as in hats and scarves. Some have been presents for those of my family members and some friends who can appreciate the work I place in them.
So without crocheting, I would probably not be around, since this is the only thing that puts me in a place of meditation, serenity and keeps me from, for a few moments or so, thinking about how lonely and alone I am.
