Something I've always wanted to do

I learned to knit when I was 10, from my Mom, and crochet from my Grandmother when I was 12. I am now going to be 59 and I have had either needles or hooks in my hands ever since. When I worked, I found these skills to be great stress relievers and that's probably what got me thru 30 years of government service.
It wasn't until I retired that my real dream came true though, when I had the opportunity to teach knitting and crocheting for Michael's Crafts locally. I have been teaching for a little over a year now, and some of my students have been beginners, and some more advanced, but just seeing the look on their faces when they leave with either a finished project or a good start on one brings a smile to my eyes. I read in a book recently that if you can count the projects you have going then you need to start another one! So if you haven't started to enjoy the fine art of knitting or crocheting run right out and get started you won't be sorry...I wasn't!
