I've read several of these stories....ok, I'll admit it, MOST of the stories! I get the feeling when I'm reading them of some of the reasons I crochet and knit. Now mind you, I'm not an expert! I'm learning. I've crocheted a few projects here and there, and I almost always have something going that I work on occasionally.
I've recently started to knit. I bought a knifty knitter loom and it has sort of ballooned into trying to knit with needles!
I remember my great grandmother knitting and crocheting and teaching me how to crochet simple stitches when I was pretty young. I also remember my grandmother teaching me how to do things as well. I was always fascinated when grandma was working on doilies, they were just so lacy and pretty! Every time I see one to this day I smile and think of her trying to teach me all the little lacy stitches. Our family lost my grandmother just this past year...and although she taught me how to do lots of things, I always am surrounded by memories of her and my great grandma when I knit or crochet.
These stories are inspiring, and should tell us all that we need to slow down and enjoy the simple things in our lives!
