Knitting-Not Smoking
Created By: Judy Seagraves

I have smoked cigarettes since the age of 16, but let me go back a few years. At the age of 12 I had a teacher who taught all the girls in the class to knit, all I learned was how to knit and purl, I don't even think I cast on right but its my way and it works. For years I have wanted to stop smoking, I tried and tried but always went back. This last time and it was 102 days ago I went on medication and started knitting(I had been knitting some for the last year or so, mostly hats and scarves). But since this last and final quit I have really got into knitting-doing doiles, blankets, etc. It keeps my hands and mind with something to do besides think about those nasty cigarettes. So if you are reading this and smoke and want to quit smoking, knitting is really, really wonderful way to keep yourself busy. As Dr. Phil says we don't break a habit, we replace it with something else, something constructive. And everyone loves my creations.
