How Knitting changed my life (and others)

I am a 52 year old nurse who started crocheting when I was 7 years old and knitting when I was 14 .4 years ago I began working in a retirement community,and noticed a few ladies in various sitting areas of the community at various times knitting /crocheting. I grouped the ladies together adding a few more,and acquired a weekly meeting room. We now have a formal group, choosing the name "knit-wits".We voted on a project of making chemo caps for infants, children and teens at Childrens Hospital in Philadelphia.Our goal is to complete 200 caps in 5 months.One month into our project I am proud to say the "knit-wits have completed 30 caps, meaning these lovely geriatric ladies will far exceed our goal.I am so proud and heart warmed when I see these ladies at work knowing that these loving hands are able to give something made with love to those who need it the most
