In 1991, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis....
Created By: Renee Drew
In 1991, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. It has progressed, and my fine motor skills have diminished. As such, I have had to give up my first hobby love of counted crossstitch. About a year and a half ago, I decided I would teach myself to knit. I figured I was relatively intelligent, I could read, and I'd crocheted. All I needed were needles, yarn, and instructions. It didn't go as well as I had hoped. I ended up taking a class at a local yarn shop and learned the basics. I have been able to make scarves for most of my family. I've also discovered Warm Up America.org, so can have a purpose for my practicing. Knitting has enabled me to create things, which is important for me. Because it is very portable, I can tote my latest project almost anywhere. I love learning new things!
