My wife was knitting most of our Christmas gifts for friends and family two years ago and didn't finish until after the holidays. So, I offered to help if she would teach me to knit and provided that all I would knit were scarves.
She readily agreed. During the summer she added some names to the Christams list and started a sweater that she needed help with. I knitted the front & back of the sweater and she did the sleeves. I had the front & back done by Christmas, but the sleeves weren't done until a couple of weeks ago!
I've become well known at our local knitting shop and now she is known as "Craig's wife" there!
