A Passion for Knitting

I began knitting at around 11 years of age. Since I was left handed, I had to teach myself because everyone threw up their hands about teaching a left hander. Knitting was always my passion, and my solution to many problems. I knit when I was sad and was unable to concentrate on anything else, when I had to wait and had no patience for waiting, when I visited the inlaws and found I could keep from saying things I might later be sorry I had said. But my best knitting solution was when I attended professional meetings and the chairperson spoke so slowly that I would arrive home absolutely exhausted from the tension during the meeting. I began taking along my knitting and I could relieve my tension by knitting, and produce something at the same time. I became known as the knitting lady and found I could make an entire baby sweater at an 8-hour meeting.
I have taught knitting classes in my hometown and helped many others who needed some inspiration and confidence.
My projects are appreciated by people who look forward to my hand knitted gifts and I am very seldom without one or more projects.
