The skie is the limit
Created By: J Jaelyne

Crochet used to be my escape from an abusive marriage of 25 years. Now I am a domestic violence survivor and I am using my life experiences and crochet to reach out to other women who are or have been in the same situation. I love to crochet. People tease me constantly that they have never seen someone crochet as fast as I do. I have not as yet ever crocheted something for myself. I crochet for whomever asks me to make them something. My current project is for a woman who approached me last week and told me of another woman who is having a baby. The baby is going to be born without a liver or a bladder and the parents have decided to go through with the pregancy even though the baby is only expected to survive about one hour after delivery. The woman has requested that I crochet 2 identical blankets for the baby. One for the baby to be buried in and one for the family as a keepsake of the baby. This is what I do. This is my life. I feel that I go to work everyday, not just to pay the rent and feed my 5 children and my grandson but to be able to buy as much yarn as I need to continue to make blankets or whatever I want to for whomever enters my life today. I have also crochet an American flag that is around 3 feet longer than a California King size bed and fits across the width of it. It took me 10 days to make it. I intend to donate it to the fire station in Everett, MA where I grew up and my baby brother is a firefighter. This is my story. P.S. I have photos of my work. Thanks.
