How knitting saved my Marriage!!!
Created By: J Julie
My husband, whom I love very much, is a very aggressive driver. Way to aggressive for me. The last vacation we went on I swore I would never go on a long road trip with him again!! Well never say never. Our boys both play soccer and their team was invited to play at the Pikes Peak Invitational Soccer Tournament, in Colorado. We live in Minnesota. The boys were going by bus and we were driving behind the bus. I thought what am I going to do? I can't read in the car it makes me sick, you can only sleep so much.... So I thought I will pick up my knitting needles again and see if I can knit in the car without getting sick? I tried it around town and the short amount of time you have to look at the pattern I did not get sick. So with knitting needles in hand and lots of yarn we set forth on our trip. By the time we got to Colorado I was on my second set of socks. One time in Denver we hit rush hour traffic, during some road construction. I looked up and made a little panicky noise like sucking in my air real quick, making this sick squeaky noise. My husband said put your head down and keep on knitting honey, keep on knitting!!! So I did, I made three pairs of socks that trip! One of the pairs I got a ribbon at the state fair with them. My husband had to buy a motor home for his work, he works all over the United States. So I can just see us traveling all over with me knitting and him driving the way he likes to, to his hearts content. So knitting saved our marriage, tongue in check. It at leasts lets us travel together without fighting about his driving. And hey I get alot of projects done.
