Healthy Habits make for Healthy Living
Created By: Mary Gregory
I thought that I should learn to crochet because my Mother-in-Law offered to have my daughter and I over for lessons; and what a great way to get closer to her Nana than this. Plus, who knows, I may pick something up too! Well, I began to crochet and I coulnd't stop. I found that for the first time in my life, I wasn't biting my nails. When my nails had become long enough to see the "white tips", I knew that the Lord was telling me that I could continue to quit bad habits. So, I quit smoking! That was 1 and 1/2 years ago. Today, I am still not biting my nails or smoking. But I have made a lot of hats and scarves for the needy and homeless. My 75 year old father received a hand made afghan from his "baby girl". My first Granddaughter has a family heirloom that she can pass to her own children. I smile wide everytime my sister comes in wearing the scarf I made for her; and my own daughter loves to pick fun yarn and have me make all sorts of cool projects for her. When I'm done making something for her, I use the leftover fun yarn to make items for children in need. Yet, I feel as I've only just begun. Lord willing, I will be crocheting for decades to come!
