Hello Readers,
I am an Indian residing in the United Arab Emirates. Craft work has always been a part of my life. I have tried various forms of it all through my life. My mother had taught me how to crochet when I was young itself but it really touched my life when it was time for me to be a mother. During my third trimister I was forced to take rest from work due to a couple of complications. Along with the usual worries every mother has, the complications I had increased my tension and life had really become full of tension. Working with children with special needs only increased my apprehension. It was then that my mother said we'll make something for the baby as she was to be born during winter. I agreed and we started making a sweater for her.
This really proved to be a turning point as it gave me something to look forward to, kept my mind occupied and most of all gave me happiness. My waking thoughts were where I had stopped crocheting and how I need to continue. I guess it made me a happier and better person to live with also.
Once the first project was over, I casually surfed the net to get the next pleasant surprise. As you all know the patterns were endless. This really got me excited and I started making small gifts for my loved ones. Now my cousin has also become a real crochet fan and we keep on exchanging ideas, patterns and crochet tips.
Crochet has really changed my life and had given me happiness during a phase when I really needed it. I guess my little daughter's last few months within me were happy because of crochet. I thank God for the wisdom and guidance He gave me to start crocheting.
