I learned to knit and crochet when my daughter...
Created By: Kim Helms
I learned to knit and crochet when my daughter was a baby.(She is now 33)She was born with a disability, and I was at the doctors' offices (waiting room!) or the hospital (waiting room!) just about once a week. I felt I was wasting a lot of time waiting, and needed to do something constuctive with the time. Since my sewing machine was not portable, knitting and crochet seemed like a perfect match.
At times money was tight, but giving a hand made gift to someone in my large family was much more appreciated than anything I could have purchased in the most exclusive boutique.
Nowadays, I bring my projects to meetings or trainings at work, and on the few ocassions I have forgotten my bag, people always ask where it is and wonder what the latest project is.
