bringing family together

When I was 6 yrs old my mother taught me to knit, and I am now 81 and have been knitting all these years. every saturday my aunts, mother and I would gather at my grandparent's house, and everyone would bring a knitting bag with a project. All those 2 piece suits my aunts knitted, all those sweaters, and the togethernessa we all shared , together with the coffee and cake. I surely miss those days, but as a remembrsance, I have knitted each of my grandchildren and great-grandchildren a special afghan with a personal label so they will never forget me. knitting is a wonderful therapy for me - I design my own projects - love to read patterns - and always have something to work on. right now I am making handbags for my grandchildren and get so much pleasure. I am so grateful to my family for teaching me this wonderful craft - and for the wonderful remembrances i have of all those saturday afternoons - knitting and the joy of family together.
