Knitting is My Life!

It's hard for me to think about knitting changing my life, as it's been a part of me for 40+ years. When I was about 9 years old, another girl brought a knitting project to school. I was intrigued by it, and she agreed to teach me. My mom found some old needles and yarn; my friend showed me the basic knit stitch, and I went on from there! Since that time, knitting has become more than just a casual "past-time"; if I don't knit at least once a day, it feels as if something is "missing". Over the past 40+ years, I've made sweaters for my husband and kids (2), our new son-in-law, my mother......and, oh yes, myself as well. Knitting is a positive, creative outlet for me; I chiefly make sweaters, and often design them myself. To me there is nothing more satisfying than having someone compliment a sweater and be astounded when I admit to having made it. Knitting is therapeutic, enjoyable, and, to me, just plain satisfyng!
