As a child I sat with my Grandmother watching her...
Created By: Shelley Prasad

As a child I sat with my Grandmother watching her knit and crochet without a pattern, it was like magic! I knit off and on, but never made anything as wonderful as my Grandmother. I did knit off and on when my children were little, but working 12 hour shifts as a nurse with 4 kids didn't leave much time for knitting. I did cross stitch but again it was hard to find the time. In 1999 I became quite ill and was told I would need a heart transplant,I was unable to work and had time to cross stitch but it was slow going, so much time spent but little to show for it. My sister-in -law was knitting dish clothes and I figured if she could so could I! I loved the fact that in an evening I actually had something that was complete and useable right away. Since then I have become addicted to knitting, it is what keeps me sane, and prevents me from wallowing in self pity. Lion Brand yarns were the first I used to make mittens and hats for charity,,,, and for all my kids friends. I love the varietie of yarns, the different colours, and textures. I must admit I now have a large stash of Lion Brand ready for almost any project. I also have a large hord of needles and accessories just waiting for inspiration. Thanks for the wonderful yarns and free patterns and tips. Shelley Prasad
