Crocheting Did Have A New Purpose

One day a very dear friend told me about the shawl she was crocheting. I used to knit and crochet but had lost interest as I had too many afghans around my home. I had also given some as gifts. When the new eyelash yarns came out a couple of years ago, I made some scarves and gave some of those for gifts as well. I do a lot of quilting, but needed something else to do, so I bought my yarn and tried the shawl pattern my friend gave me. This shawl is called "The Prayer Shawl" and I am really enjoying making them. The first one I made I gave to a terminal cancer patient. I have just started my second one and am so enjoying the process. The idea is to say special prayers while you are stitching. Who knows who may receive the next one. I have decided to form a group at my church who enjoy knitting and crocheting for this very special "Prayer Shawl Ministry.
