Benefits of Knit and Crochet

I learned at an early age to knit and crochet but didn't do much them. It's only now that I've really gotten into to.
In 1994 when I had cancer surgery, I found how crocheting and knitting gave me something to do that I could while I was healing. I've had 3 other surgeries and each time the knitting and crocheting kept me going.
From making hats, scarves and mittens for the children at an area children's center to afghans and lap robes for people living with cancer, the elderly, the veterans -- this is what we are all about.
We have a group that meets weekly at work where we teach others our skills and our love of working for others. Even year, we donate hundreds of items. Our signature afghans are the granny squares where many can do the squares but I put them together.
