How Crochet Changed My Life

In 1984, I was in a very serious car accident. The spinal injuries I suffered left me incapacited to the point that I was restricted in the things I had always participated in..golfing, walking, working in the yard. I decided to take up crochet and it has turned my life around. I started with the 4ply yarns and started making sweaters, afghans and pot holders..now I am doing primarily thread crochet and people are knocking on my door to see the doilies and other creations I have made. My crochet has help bring me out of the depression and the feeling of not being able to do anything to having pride in the fact that I am making memories for a lifetime. One of the best things I have ever made is a wall hanging for my oldest sister for she and her husbands 50th wedding anniversart. Thank God for directing me and me knowing to answer his call to start crocheting. I am right handed and even taught my daughter-in-law, who is lefthanded, how to crochet.
