I knited this scarf myself, Love Emma
Created By: Linda Beckley
As our children started moving away from home my husband and I decided to move onto a bigger farm (32 acres). We bought a few sheep, cows and goats. I had the sheep and knew I had to do something with the fiber. I would spin the fiber but, it was coarse so I needed to add something with it to make it more usable for clothing. So I began to use lion brand silk, and cotton to blend with it.
I knitted but, it was a long time ago before I had my children so I began checking on the patterns from lion brand. Being in a small town walmart was the only store and they carried lion brand ( thank God).I began knitting and now I sell my items and teach classes.
I think all of this really began because it helped to fill the emptiness you feel as your children move from home and you need something to do.
I now have a small fiber business that keeps me busy all the time. But, I am doing something I really enjoy. I have been able to start the Franklin County FIber Guild in our area where a group of us get together and show and share our hand made items.
I also have a grand daugter and two daughters who now knit. This past year for Christmas I received a beautiful (lion brand) scarf from my precious grand daughter. With a card that read I hope you love this scarf Grammy I knitted it myself. Love Emma
