How Crocheting Changed My Life

I was newly married and my husband and I went to his parents just about every Saturday to watch Football. I didn't care much about Football way back then. My mother-in-law taught me how to crochet. I loved it!!!! I could "watch" the game with the boys and crochet to my heart's content. In turn I taught her how to read a pattern and became closer to her. I have made many afghans from Michigan to Alabama (including Florida). Babies receive them as new born gifts. My children have received them from me. There is hardly a friend that I haven't made an afghan for. Part of me has been left in their homes forever. I have made them for people who wanted Christmas Presents to give to their loved ones. I tell everybody that my crocheting is cheaper than a psychristrist's couch. I have made scarves for the winter months and slippers for the cold feet. I share my patterns with my crocheting "buddies". I have come to know many friends through my crocheting all because I didn't care for Football. People love what I crochet and think of it as real talent. I just smile and say "thank you" and Praise God for my "Gift of Love" that I can share with everybody. It is another way of reaching out to people, which I Love to do. By the way, I Love Football now and can't wait to watch the game and grab my crochet hook!!!! Kaye
