How Crocheting Changed My Life!I

I have a disease called Multiple Sclerosis. During the year of 2002 I had a major flare up which affected me in many different ways. I had problems with my hands and my memory among other issues.
I was soon to have a new grandson and I wanted to make a baby blanket. There were many starts and tear outs. Once I settled on a pattern, it took me 6 months to crochet a baby blanket. It wasn't because the pattern was difficult because it was a very simple one. I just could not remember the pattern from row to row and had to read the directions over and over.
I felt a great sense of success when I finished that blanket. I knew that this was only difficult because of the problems I was experiencing but working through it helped me retrain my brain.
Since then, I have made several large blankets, scarfs, and hats for my family. I am now working on crocheting baby blankets to be given to the premie babies in hospitals.
Crocheting has helped me in so many ways.
