A Teacher At Last
Created By: Ann Saglimbene
I learned how to knit, as a little girl, with instruction from my Mom, grandmother and aunt. Througout my life, I have learned knitting techniques from everywhere - books, articles, my child's teacher, the receptionist at dancing school, anywhere I saw someone knitting, I saw someone who could teach me. Although always a hobby I enjoyed, knitting didn't become a big part of my life until about 7 years ago. I now knit all the time, while watching TV, waiting in doctors' offices and during my lunch at work. When someone has a baby, my hobby provides a much appreciated gift.
I work as a school secretary and recently my Principal asked if I would teach some of the children to knit in an afterschool program. When I was a child, teaching was a dream of mine that never came to pass. Now, because of my hobby, I am finally getting the chance to teach and will finally achieve my dream.
