I found a pattern for a child's pullover, worked from sleeve to sleeve with scraps of yarn. Tried it and liked it, then I thought I'd try to just use larger needles and knit one for myself. I followed the basic pattern, then added a few extra rows in the middle because I wear a large size and wanted it to be loose enough through the bust. I think it turned out pretty well.
