sweater/top and poncho
Created By: Pat O'Hara
I more or less developed my own pattern for the sweater/top, making it for myself, using the beautifully colored Incredible ribbon yarn. I knitted the top using four different sized needles, casting on with the smallest needles (and knowing how many stitches to cast on to make the top fit was my biggest problem). And, I couldn't tell
how it would fit until I completed the entire thing the first time--it was way too big. Then I started over (with a little more experience) and could tell after completing the front side piece that it was too small, so I started over again and got it right that time.
I had bought extra yarn for the sweater top when I was making it the first time (making it too large), so I had lots of yarn left and decided to start crocheting a poncho and see how far the yarn went and had enough to make a nice poncho using the "lover's knot" stitch.
