I made this blanket for my best friend's second son. I usually make blankets for expectant moms. Crochetting (and sometimes knitting) is my therapy. It helps me relax. As a graphic designer who's on the computer all day, the movement of the hook helps keep carpel tunnel at bay.
The stripe pattern is of my own design. The stitch is very basic...a single crochet woven stitch pattern. The blanket looks more complicated than it is. I love Homespun because it works up so quickly. For this blanket, I used an L hook and Homespun Candy Apple, Golden, Florida Keys Green and Montana Sky. For babies, I prefer to go bright and bold instead of the traditional pastels.
