Rectangular Granny Splendor
Created By: Carolyn Prather
Hi Lion Brand,
This is an original pattern. I bowl in a league every Tuesday night, and I always have crochet project with me to work on. In March of last year, I was commissioned by a couple (who also bowls in the same league, to make 3 blankets; one for themselves, and the others as Christmas gifts for both their mothers. They had seen me make one for my cousin as a much belated wedding gift. This afghan was made with the following colors: Edwardian, Shaker, Rococo, and Hepplewhite. My cousin's blanket used the same colors, except I used Deco in place of Hepplewhite.
I have been crocheting/knitting since I was a teenager (self-taught), but really started my hobby full-time in 1996 when I decided to make baby blankets as shower gifts, etc. Since then, I have been making afghans as wedding gifts, housewarming gifts, appreciation gifts, etc. I've also ventured into wearables.
The projects submitted were made with Lion Brand Homespun and Baby Homespun. The other blankets were made from other patterns, except for the blanket made for my cousin.
I thoroughly enjoy crocheting, and appreciate receiving your newsletter. Thanks so much for allowing me to show off a little :-)
