Tropical Fur Jacket
Created By: Patricia Warrick
The five Fun Fur colors pick up the colors in the Lion Boucle so perfectly, I had to use them all. On top of that, the Fancy Fur matches the Boucle, so I couldn't stand not to use it, too. Yarn that cute is addictive.
The biggest challenge was deciding on the pattern stitch. The body of the jacket is knitted in a slip stitch pattern for a "Tiffany glass" effect, with the boucle forming solid frames around the translucent fur "panes." A different slip stitch makes the sleeves. The Boucle edging is single crochet, with a round of Fancy Fur to finish it. The front closes with two rainbow-colored buttons.
The slip stitches are more challenging than plain stripes, but not hard once you learn them; they are repetitive and the jacket shaping is simple.
This is an original pattern.
