These Homespun blankets were made using the basic...
Created By: Jennifer Smith
These Homespun blankets were made using the basic increase-decrease baby blanket pattern. I've made about 10 of these in many colors (Waterfall, Delft, Sierra, Rococo, French Provincial, Cyprus), but these are the only one's I've photographed.
I used two and a quarter skeins each on size 10.5 circular needles (I've also used 3 skeins on size 8 needles). The pattern is easy to work and easily individualized by changing the edging to make each blanket unique. Sometimes I K2 then YO. Sometimes I P2 then YO. Depends on my mood when I start each blanket.
The Adirondack blanket was knit for the first child of some dear friends in Houston, Texas, and the Pacifica was knit for the second child of other dear friends, also in Houston, Texas.
I love Homespun yarn. It is so soft and cuddly and yet completely practical. Not many mothers I know have time to hand wash baby blankets, so Homespun is perfect for baby blankets.
