Reading Buddies and Hats
I do volunteer work making warm hats for under-privileged children, along with decorating stuffed animals to accompany the hats. Jamie Baby yarn is perfect to use with regular four-ply yarn to make especially warm caps.
I've enclosed a copy of a photo that ran in the St. James, MO newspaper. It shows the Head Start children with their hats and teddy bears. The teddy bears becams their reading buddies. These nineteen children are very needy, making it especially dear to my heart that I could give them a little something to brighten their reading program and upcoming holiday.
This past year, I made over 100 hats and 20 hats/teddies for distribution to the needy. Of course, this is an ongoing project for me. I knit all year. I have even inspired some other ladies while knitting at a doctor's waiting room! Everyone always wants to know what I'm making. I do believe the Pound of Love is the very best buy when it comes to yarn for sweaters, throws, hats, etc. The quality shows. The picture shows hats and decorated dolls that I made with that yarn for a relative with twins.
Thank you for your wonderful products!
