I was at a craft fair in New Hampshire last year and bought a pack of Lion Brand Jiffy yarn in gray and black, but it wasn't enough to make anything. So upon returning home, I went to my local store and bought the random patern "Denver" to complete the vest. The pattern I used incorporated the "feather and fan" pattern that my mother taught me when I was five years old,(sitting up in bed recovering from scarlet fever!)and has since become my favorite. The pattern for the vest is one of my mother's old patterns from England, printed by Emu - it took 15 x 50g balls altogether. Only problem I had was I sewed the buttonhole band on the wrong side - I had sewed it so beautifully and invisibley that I decided to leave it wrong!
