First dress I knit. It is the free pattern L20022 Party Girl Dress at Lion Brand.Easy to make and the directions were good. I didn't have any problems with the directions and it worked up quickly. It was different to knit the rows of the skirt side to side instead of bottom up. However, I didn't make it as wide as the directions. I stopped when it was 27" wide instead of 38". The picot edge works up like magic at the end of the rows - no need to add the edging. I used a !6” circular size 6 because I was using a #3 Light yarn and not the DK weight called for in the pattern.
The cotton bamboo yarn is very pretty and has a soft feel and a nice shine. I used bamboo needles and the yarn would stick and split some time but it wasn’t too bad. Occassionally a strand of yarn would un-twist and I needed to smooth out the yarn.
I made the dress to my Granddaughter’s measurements and it fits her perfectly. I would make this dress again.
I crocheted the flower and added a button.
The white cotton dress under the knit dress is 64 yrs. old. I wore it on my first birthday!
