made from Lion Brand Yarn.
I used a cardigan pattern from the book Knitting Noro. I added about 5 inches to the length and several to the sleeves. The original pattern called for bell shaped sleeves but I wanted them more tapered so I omitted one repeat (13 stitches). Since my buttonholes were not neat enough for my taste, I crocheted small flowers and sewed them around the buttonholes. I used vintage buttons that my girlfriend had passed on to me when her grandmother died. I alternated two colors of Lion Brand Amazing - Mauna Loa and Olympia. I found that using two high contrast yarns work best when alternating. Each yarn is used for two rows and carried up the edge. The chevron pattern is very easy, even for a beginner, and of course the rest of the sweater is done in stockinette.
