Sporty baby booties
Created By: Jessie Brooks
Craft: crochet
Materials: I used Lion Cotton Yarn, in Black (053) & Natural (not sure, I lost the label)and a size F (4.5mm) no-name plastic needle. The first bootie took me 3 hrs, the 2nd one longer 'cause I had to copy the first & I hadn't taken notes (it WAS my first project since 1984, when I was expecting my first-born!).
Pattern Source: original:

Take any baby bootie, but make sure it's a formed one. I began by stitching 9 ch, 2 sc in the last ch, then 4 sc in 1st st, around, sc to last st (where the 1st st has 2sc), ch 2 then 2sc in 1st ch, 2ch in 2nd ch, then sc to 2nd to last ch, 2ch in next st, 2ch in last st, around to next st, 2ch in that st, 2 sc in next st, sc to 2nd to last st, rep around 3 more times. To build up: sc around entire base 3 times, w/ slip stitch to finish e/ round then 1 st to build up e/ round. For toe: dec at midline e/ other st, slip st at end of each round. Tie in 2nd color at midlinem Dc 3 times to desired height (3 times in pictured bootie). Make 3 sc loops skipping 2 ch in e/ edge, slip stitching across edge of bootie top to other side & rep the loop pattern from the other side. Tie off. Make laces from 2 lengths of e/ color yarn. Knot the ends then lace through the loops. I'm a beginner & I made up the pattern as I went along so these notations may not be too clear. If u have questions, pls feel free to post them to my profile. Thx for trying this out!
